Fire extinguished on second floor of MAC

Arlington Fire Department responded to a fire at the Maverick Activities Center on Saturday afternoon. No injuries were reported, said Lt. Mike Joiner, Arlington Fire Department spokesperson.

There are about $70,000 worth of damages after a fire was extinguished at the Maverick Activities Center on Saturday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation although initial concerns point toward a refrigerator in the corner of the room where the fire started, said Lt. Mike Joiner, Arlington Fire Department spokesperson.

The damages are a result of water from the sprinklers, smoke and fire, Joiner said.

The fire was controlled by sprinklers in the building before the fire department arrived to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
