FORT WORTH — Fort Worth City Council held its first meeting since the death of 28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson on Tuesday evening Oct. 15 at Fort Worth City Hall. Citizens were given three minutes to speak and the city council listened to public comments for over two hours. Mayor Betsy Price ended the meeting by honoring Jefferson.
Aaron Dean, UTA graduate and former Fort Worth Police officer, was charged with murder after fatally shooting Jefferson in her home on Saturday. The case is under investigation.
Dean graduated from UTA in spring of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, chief communications officer Joe Carpenter said in an email.
